Rise 360: Choosing Accessible Components to Create Online Learning

Creating inclusive training in Rise 360 starts with choosing components that support a wide range of learners, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions, and other assistive technology.

Most Rise 360 blocks support accessibility when authored thoughtfully. The list below identifies components that support accessibility, along with notes for any that require additional considerations. For broader guidance, see Rise 360: How to Design an Accessible Course.

Supports Accessibility with Considerations

The component below supports accessibility in many situations. Review the notes below for considerations to review before publishing.

Multimedia: Video

This block doesn’t include a built-in audio description option. Provide closed captions for narrated video and include a text description of important visual information. If the video contains essential visual-only details, consider creating an audio-described version using a separate tool and importing it. Use the caption field to explain the purpose of the video.
