The previous slide triggers refer to the last visited slide. It might not be sequentially before the current slide. 

For example, if you have a trigger to jump to the previous slide when a button is clicked, the learner will go back to the slide they viewed before the current slide.  If you prefer that they always jump to the slide that's sequentially before the current slide, no matter which slide was last visited, edit the trigger to assign the specific slide number.
