Articulate Localization: Translation Suggestions
Article Last Updated Apr 24, 2026
This article applies to:
The translation suggestions feature is currently in beta, so functionality may change over time. Some options may be modified or removed, based on feedback and performance.
The translation suggestion feature is a new, AI-powered validation assistant that we’re developing in Review 360. We’d love for you to try it out and share your feedback. Our goal is to help validators:
- Quickly identify possible areas for improvement in translated text
- Reduce manual rewriting during validation
- Resolve grammar, phrasing, or untranslated text issues more efficiently
While AI helps streamline the process, validators remain in control and can accept or dismiss any validation suggestions. Read on to learn how to access and use the feature and to get answers to frequently asked questions.
Access Translation Suggestions
During this initial beta phase, the translation suggestions feature is only available for Review 360 items that meet these specific criteria:
- The course was created using Rise 360
- The language pair used for translation is US English (en-US) → Mexican Spanish (es-MX)
The initial translation suggestions provided focus on general improvements and will become more tailored over time as we continue to develop the feature.
Note: Support for Storyline 360 and additional languages may be added in future releases. Let us know if you’d like to have Storyline 360 support as well as which languages would be most useful for you.
Use Translation Suggestions
To get started, create your Rise 360 content in English (US) and translate it to Spanish (Mexico). Publish it to Review 360, and then follow these steps:
- Launch the translated course in Review 360.
- Navigate to the language version you want to validate, Spanish (Mexico) in this case.
- Under the Translation tab, the Suggestions panel displays on the right. Click Check for suggestions to generate AI-powered suggestions. (Note: Suggestions are automatically generated when you assign validator via request review.)
- Review each segment with suggested alternatives. Click a suggestion to choose from the following options:
-
- Accept applies the suggestion to the segment and removes it from the Suggestions panel. When you click outside the segment to save it, a blue pencil icon with sparkle appears on the right to show that the change was made via translation suggestions. The segment is included when you filter the translation table by “Edited with Suggestions”.
- Dismiss removes the suggestion from the Suggestions panel permanently. To provide feedback and help us improve the experience, click the dropdown instead and select the appropriate reason for dismissing the suggestion:
- Incorrect suggestion
- Prefer original translation
- Hover the mouse over the information icon (i) to know the reason behind the suggestion.
Translation suggestions are generated by course. Once generated, the same suggestions are shown to all viewers of that course. Any updates, including when a suggestion is accepted or dismissed, are reflected in real time.
You can still manually edit and validate text segments even if you use translation suggestions. Click the Suggestions button under the Translation tab to hide/show the Suggestions panel.
FAQ
What type of content does the translation suggestions feature support? Will suggestions appear for every segment?
The translation suggestions feature evaluates all text translated with Localization in Rise 360 when validating course translations and updates in Review 360. Translated text includes block text, AI-generated text-to-speech, audio transcripts, closed captions, and customized alternative text.
Suggestions appear only when the system identifies an opportunity to improve the translation, so some segments may not have suggestions.
Does translation suggestions preserve formatting?
Translation suggestions attempts to preserve formatting, but validators can use advanced tag format editing to adjust text formatting when needed.
Does translation suggestions use the glossary and formality settings used during translation?
Yes. Translation suggestions takes the selected glossary and formality setting into account when generating suggestions.
Are accepted suggestions included when importing suggestions in Rise 360?
Yes. When a validator accepts a suggestion, the change is included with other validation suggestions that you can import into Rise 360.
Can I accept suggestions in bulk?
Translation suggestions for the entire course can’t be accepted in bulk at this time. However, if you accept a suggestion for a segment that is repeated elsewhere in the source language as an exact match, you can apply the change to every instance simultaneously.
Can I restore the original translation if I accepted a suggestion by accident?
Yes. To restore the original AI translation, click the edited segment. Then click the reset icon at the bottom right and choose Reset from the prompt that appears. When you reset a segment, the suggestion reappears in the Suggestion panel.
How can I check if a suggestion was made using the translation suggestions feature?
You can filter the translation table by “Edited with Suggestions” to see all the segments that were updated with the translation suggestions feature. These segments also have a blue pencil icon with sparkle. When you hover the mouse over the icon, you’ll see “Edited by [validator name] with Suggestions on [date/time]”.
What happens when I publish a new version to Review 360?
Translation suggestions that are NOT marked as validated carry over to each new version until you dismiss them or accept and import them before republishing. This means you can’t view suggestions in previous versions. New and updated text segments may generate new suggestions when applicable.
How does translation suggestions work with multiple validators?
Translation suggestions are generated per course and shared with all validators. Everyone sees the same set of suggestions, and actions like accepting or dismissing a suggestion sync in real time. The suggestions stay with the course even if you close the Suggestions panel, switch to another language version, or refresh the browser.
