Rise 360: Publishing Content to Thinkific
Article Last Updated Oct 23, 2026
This article applies to:
Training your own team is one thing. Selling or delivering training to people outside your organization is another. That's where Articulate 360 AI’s integration with Thinkific comes in. Skip the manual export-and-upload process and publish your Rise 360 course directly to Thinkific. Keep reading to learn how.
Connect Your Thinkific Account
Each Articulate 360 AI subscription can connect to one Thinkific site. If your organization runs more than one, choose the site you want connected before your admin sets this up.
Before you can publish Rise 360 courses to Thinkific, your Articulate 360 AI admin must enable this feature for your organization. Share the directions below with your admin, or, if you're the admin, follow these steps:
- Go to the Rise 360 dashboard.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar menu.
- Click Integrations to open the Integrations page.
- Click the Enable for subscription button for Thinkific.
- Toggle the switch in the Manage integration slide-out page on the right.
- Enter your Thinkific site URL in the field provided, then click Save.
- Use your
yoursite.thinkific.comaddress. - If your Thinkific site uses a custom domain, enter the
.thinkific.comaddress instead of your custom domain, which you can find in your Thinkific site settings.
- Use your
Once you’ve confirmed Thinkific is enabled for your subscription, follow these steps to connect your own Thinkific account:
- Go to your Rise 360 dashboard.
- Click Settings in the left sidebar menu, then select Integrations to open the Integrations page.
- Click the Connect button for Thinkific.
- Sign in to your Thinkific account when prompted.
You'll know you're connected when a green "Connected" label with a checkmark appears next to Thinkific on the Integrations page. To disconnect at any time, click the three-dot menu, then click Disconnect.
Publish a Course to Thinkific
Follow these steps to publish a course to Thinkific:
- Click Publish in the upper-right corner of the course overview page.
- Select Thinkific from the drop-down menu.
- Choose whether to Reset progress after updates and Allow usage data collection.
- Click Publish to Thinkific.
Thinkific displays a confirmation message rather than an immediate success dialog while it processes your course. Most courses appear on your Thinkific site within a minute.
Your course will appear in Thinkific as a draft, giving you full control over pricing, enrollment, and learner access before it goes live.
To update a course that’s already live on Thinkific, make your changes in Rise 360, then republish—updates won’t be reflected in Thinkific until then.
Republishing replaces the content in your existing Thinkific course while keeping the same URL and enrollment data. If Reset progress after updates is turned on, progress will reset for anyone who’s partway through the course, so they will need to start over. Learners who have already completed the course aren't affected, and their quiz scores are preserved. If you have learners actively enrolled in the course, time your updates accordingly.
To preserve learners' progress when you republish, turn off Reset progress after updates in the publishing window.
Troubleshoot Thinkific Publishing
If you encounter a problem when publishing your training to Thinkific, check for these potential issues:
- You don't see Thinkific as a publishing option. This integration currently supports only Rise 360 courses and the new training formats. Frontline kits and Storyline 360 projects aren't included in this release.
- Your credit balance doesn't change after publishing. Connecting to Thinkific works the same way as connecting to Google Drive or OneDrive; it doesn't affect your credit balance.
- A teammate can't publish using your Thinkific connection. Each creator must connect their own Thinkific account before publishing a course.
- Your Thinkific connection asks you to reconnect. Connections expire 15 days after you first connect, and frequent publishing doesn't extend the expiration. That means you can expect to have to reconnect about twice a month. Reconnecting affects only you, not everyone in your organization.
- A course with large assets fails to publish. Thinkific limits course packages to 1 GB. Video files are the most common element that might be too large, but if your course includes several languages, remember that they're all published in a single package. That can increase the package size.
- Publishing to Thinkific requires a Thinkific Plus plan. Publishing from Rise 360 requires a Thinkific Plus plan. Thinkific blocks the connection for sites on other plans, so you'll see this message when you try to connect.
- Your course doesn't appear in Thinkific right away. Publishing runs asynchronously on Thinkific's end; expect a short delay between selecting Publish to Thinkific and seeing the course in your site.
- Your course no longer exists when you try to update it. The course was deleted from your Thinkific site. You can publish it again as a new course.
- You don't have permission to publish. Your Thinkific account needs course creation and editing permissions. A Thinkific site admin can grant them.
- Your admin can't connect using your custom domain. Enter the .thinkific.com address instead of your custom domain, which you can find in your Thinkific site settings.
FAQs
Will I see course completions or learner progress in my Articulate 360 AI subscription?
No. Publishing to Thinkific is one-way. Enrollments, progress, and completions are stored in Thinkific, and you'll report on them there. Articulate's analytics cover only content shared through Quick Share.
Why does Thinkific only show 0%, 1%, or 100% progress?
That's how Thinkific's own dashboard reports progress: not started, in progress, or complete, with no in-between percentages.
Your course's completion threshold in Rise 360 still determines exactly when a learner is considered complete; Thinkific just doesn't display the finer details.
Which SCORM version does this use?
Thinkific supports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 4th edition. Your course is automatically published as SCORM 2004 4th edition; you won't be asked to choose a format.
Do I still need a separate LMS if I publish to Thinkific?
No. Thinkific is the LMS in this scenario. Publishing from Rise 360 eliminates the manual export-and-upload step; Thinkific still manages delivery, enrollment, and learner management.
Will my multilingual course publish to Thinkific as individual packages?
No. If a course has more than one language, a single package is published to Thinkific instead of one package per language. Learners select their preferred language within the Thinkific course player.
How is my data handled for the courses I’ve published on Thinkific?
When you publish to Thinkific, that content lives in your Thinkific site under your agreement with Thinkific—their terms govern how it's hosted, retained, and secured.
Deleting it in Articulate won't remove it from Thinkific, and Thinkific doesn't operate EU data centers, so content published there may leave the EU. That's true of any external destination you publish to, not something specific to this integration.
If you have questions about how Thinkific handles your data, contact them directly.
