Storyline 360: Tips for Importing Microsoft PowerPoint and Articulate Presenter Content

When you import content from Microsoft PowerPoint or Presenter into Storyline 360, most of their features are supported. That includes most accessibility settings enabled in PowerPoint. However, some features and settings aren’t supported or may work differently. Read on to learn more.

Storyline 360 only supports PPTX files. If you have a PPT file, save it as a PPTX before importing.

PowerPoint Features

Presentation Size

If your presentation size doesn’t match your Storyline 360 slide size, objects may shift after import. Before importing, adjust your Storyline 360 slide size to match the dimensions of your PowerPoint slides.

Tip: Importing PowerPoint content from the Storyline 360 start screen automatically matches the slide dimensions to your presentation.

Embedded Fonts

Embedded fonts won’t import into Storyline 360. If your PowerPoint presentation includes a font that isn’t installed on your computer, Storyline 360 will replace it with Arial.

Entrance and Exit Animations

Most PowerPoint entrance and exit animations import into Storyline 360. Animations without a close equivalent in Storyline 360 aren’t imported.

Emphasis Animations

PowerPoint emphasis animations import into Storyline 360. You can also recreate similar effects using the emphasis animations feature.

Motion Path Animations

Most PowerPoint motion path animations import into Storyline 360. Unsupported animation types won’t import.

Slide Transitions

Most PowerPoint slide transitions import into Storyline 360. Unsupported transition types aren’t imported.

SmartArt Graphics

SmartArt graphics import as groups of editable shapes in Storyline 360. Some formatting or text rotation may appear differently after import.

PowerPoint Shapes

PowerPoint shapes without an equivalent in Storyline 360 import as similar editable shapes.

Tables

Tables import into Storyline 360, and you can edit them using the table tools feature.

Charts and Embedded Objects

Charts, Excel spreadsheets, and other embedded files in PowerPoint aren’t imported into Storyline 360.

3-D Rotation
