Storyline 360: Start Using Articulate Localization Now, Choose a Paid Plan to Publish

Using Rise 360? Learn how to localize Rise 360 content with Articulate Localization.
You can now use Articulate Localization within your Articulate 360 subscription to translate, validate, and manage multi-language Storyline 360 projects. When you’re ready to distribute your content, simply activate a paid Localization plan to publish and deliver localized training to your learners.
To start localizing Storyline 360 projects, finalize your course in your source language, then follow these steps:

Note: Translating Storyline 360 projects without a paid plan requires Storyline 360 build 3.118.37003.0 or later. Translated courses won’t open in versions older than Storyline 360 build 3.115.36688.0.
Step 1: Prepare for Translation
Following a few simple guidelines can make translation smoother and help prevent common issues. For example, if you add your narration with text-to-speech, translated versions of your narration will be generated automatically. Review the checklist in this section of the user guide and follow the steps that apply to your course to optimize your results.
Step 2: Translate Your Project
When your project is ready for translation, navigate to File > Localization > Translate Course. Then, do the following in the translation dialog:
- Ensure the source language is correct.
- Select the target languages you want to add.
- Click the Translate button in the lower right to create a multi-language course.
That’s it! Once the system finishes processing, your course will be available in each of the target languages you added, with all the text translated.
The next step is to fine-tune the course assets in the target languages. Read this section of the user guide to learn how to localize media assets and resources. You can also find out more about how to manage languages in your multi-language course.
Note: Deleting all target language versions converts the file back to a single-language project.
Step 3: Validate the Translation
AI Translation is fast and easy, but to achieve higher quality, share translations with a native speaker to review and validate the content. Review 360 streamlines this process. Just follow these steps:
- Publish your multi-language content to Review 360.
- Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Publish.
- When the Publish window appears, select the Review 360 tab on the left.
- Keep the default All project languages selected.
- Click Publish at the bottom right.
- Invite validators via Review 360’s request review feature.
- After publishing, click the View project dropdown and select the source language to open the corresponding course stack in Review 360. Or open the course stack from your Review 360 dashboard.
- Select a target language from the sidebar on the left.
- Click the Request Review button on the top right for that target language.
- Add the validator’s email to the Assigned Reviewers field and share this validator’s user guide in the Message to Reviewers field. (Learn more about request review options and statuses.)
- Click Send Request.
- Repeat steps 2-5 for other target languages.
Validators receive an email notification with a personalized URL to open the Review 360 item in the target language assigned to them. Once in Review 360, they can suggest changes to any of the translated text in a course, see a preview of their changes as they’re made, and mark lessons as validated to avoid duplicating work. When they’re done, they can click the Review Assigned to You button on the top right and choose Finish Review to let you know they’ve completed their validation.

Step 4: Review and Import Validation Suggestions
Reviewing and importing validator suggestions for a target language all at once is easy. When you open a translated course stack from your Rise 360 dashboard, you’ll see badges for languages with pending suggestions.
To review these suggestions, open the Review 360 course stack, and then do the following:
- Click the filter icon from the toolbar above the validation tables and select Unimported edits only to see all the segments with suggestions that haven’t been imported into your course.
- If you find a suggestion that you don’t want to import, click the corresponding segment in the target language column, click the reset icon that appears at the bottom right, and choose Reset.
To import the pending suggestions, open the multi-language project file, and then choose either of the following methods:
- To import suggestions for all languages, click the language menu and choose Import All Suggestions or navigate to File > Localization > Language Validation and select Import All Suggestions.
- To import suggestions for just one language, go to File > Localization, hover the mouse over the language you want to import, and choose Import Suggestions.

Step 5: Activate a Paid Localization Plan
When you’re ready to publish and distribute your multi-language training, contact Sales to activate a paid Localization plan that fits your needs.
Step 6: Publish Your Multi-language Training for Distribution
You can always publish the source language in a multi-language project file, but to publish translated versions, you must contact Sales and activate a paid Localization plan. Once you’ve activated a paid plan, you can publish multi-language training to deliver to your learners. Here’s how:
- Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Publish.
- When the Publish window appears, choose either of the following output options: Web, Video, Word, LMS/LRS, Reach 360
- Use the Language dropdown to choose whether to publish all or a subset of your course languages.
- For LMS or web output, choose one of the following package types, then click Publish:

Discover Additional Features with a Paid Localization Plan
Activating a paid Localization plan unlocks additional features beyond publishing, including the ability to apply a glossary or multiple glossaries and manage which creators can translate. The table below compares the features available with and without a paid Localization plan.
