- Go to Articulate 360 in your browser and sign in with your account.
- Choose Rise 360 at the top of your screen to start building content or click Start creating with AI.
You’ll land on the Dashboard, where all your courses live.
2. Start a New Course
Get started by clicking the Create New button. There are three ways to create a new course. Let’s look at the fastest method first.
Fast: Work with AI Assistant to generate a course
Use AI Assistant to walk through the creation process. You give it sources to work from, and it generates custom content, including images.
- Click Create with AI.
- In as many words as you like, describe the kind of course you'd like to build.
- Add any documents or websites in the source materials section.
- Click Generate course details. AI Assistant will guide you through the creation process.
- When ready, confirm your course content options and click Create course draft.
Easy: Use a template
Templates give you a ready-made course structure or a ready-to-deploy course with polished content. This is a good option if you want to work from existing content that can be easily edited.
- Click New Course.
- Select Course Template.
- Search for topics in the template library. You'll see two types:
- Real Content is fully developed, researched, and ready to deploy.
- Course Template offers structure, relevant imagery, and related but generic language.
- Select a template, then customize the content to make it your own.

Custom: Start with a blank course
Starting from scratch gives you full control of your content but requires the most setup.
- Click New Course.
- Choose Blank Course.
When the blank course outline opens, you can use AI Assistant to help generate your training.
3. Make an Outline
Think of your course like a document with headings.
- Sections = big topics
- Lessons = pages inside each topic
Here are two ways to organize your content into sections and lessons.
Fast: Let AI Assistant organize it
If you already have content:
- Ask AI Assistant to organize your material into sections and lessons.
- Paste text or upload files and let AI suggest a structure.
Custom: Organize manually
To add content:
- Click Add Section and name it (optional).
- Click Add Lesson under the section and name it.
You can rename, move, or delete sections and lessons at any time.
4. Add Your Content
Lessons are built one piece at a time. Here are two ways to add content.
Fast: Use AI Assistant to create content
AI Assistant can help you:
- Write plain-language explanations
- Create examples, scenarios, or summaries
- Generate custom images to illustrate concepts, scenarios, or people
You can edit or replace anything AI creates. You’re always in control of the final content.
Custom: Add content manually
- Open a lesson.
- Choose a block type from the quick add toolbar or click Block Library to see all block types, including text, images, videos, interactions, and quiz questions.
If you’ve ever written a document or made a slide, this will feel familiar.
5. Make Changes (Optional)
Fast: Use AI Assistant to revise content
You can ask AI Assistant to:
- Instantly convert content to other types—e.g., text to interactions
- Rewrite content to sound clearer or more conversational
- Shorten or simplify text
- Adjust tone for a specific audience
Custom: Edit manually
- Click text to edit it.
- Hover over any block to change settings, replace images or videos, or delete/duplicate the block.
No saving required. Rise saves automatically.
6. Choose a Look (Optional)
Fast: Do nothing
The default design looks professional and works well on all devices.
Custom: Choose your design options
If you want to change how the course looks:
- From the course outline, click the Theme icon.
- Select a new theme or manually pick colors and fonts.
- Add a cover image or logo.
- Save your new settings.
7. Check Your Work
Previewing helps you catch missing content or confusing sections early.
- Click Preview to see what learners will see.
- Click through the course like a learner would.
8. Collaborate or Get Feedback (Optional)
If you’re working with others, you have two options:
- Click Collaborate to invite teammates to edit your training with you.
- Click Review to give others the opportunity to review your training.
9. Share the Course with a Link
When you’re ready to show your course to others, publish to Quick Share.
- Click Publish.
- Choose Quick Share.
- Click Copy link.
- Send the link (and password, if enabled) to your learners to open in their browser.
- Click Publish update to update your training, or turn on live updates to keep it up to date automatically.
You can also export your courses to PDF. Interactive elements of your training will display differently.
Helpful Things to Know
- You can’t “break” the course. Everything is reversible. You can undo actions like deleting a block using the pop-up notification in the bottom left. If something goes wrong, you can restore a Snapshot from a previous session.
- You can move content around anytime.
- Courses automatically work on phones, tablets, and computers.
- AI Assistant is there to help. Use it as much or as little as you like.
