Whether you're shaping a lesson in Rise 360 or an artifact in Frontline, AI can work alongside you at every step—drafting blocks, refining copy, creating images and voiceovers, and checking what your audience retained. Read on to learn how to put AI to work for you.

Draft New Content

Block Generation

Accelerate training creation with AI-generated blocks. From the shortcuts bar at the bottom, click AI Block, or click Block library > Generate AI block > Generate AI block. In an interactive video, add a new checkpoint first.

The Generate block panel opens on the right side of the screen. From there:

1. Confirm your source content. Documents you've already uploaded are selected automatically. To change what AI draws from, click Source content, adjust your selection, then click Save. Source content types include:
   • This lesson: AI selects all text-based blocks in the current lesson. Click Edit to choose specific blocks, then click Done.
   • Documents: Select one or more of your uploaded documents. You can also drag and drop a new file or paste text into the field. Once selected, source documents stay selected for future generation sessions.
   • Import from a tool: Pull files straight from Google Drive or OneDrive. Choose the account you want to use in the pop-up window, or sign in if prompted.
2. Choose a topic. AI suggests topics based on your source content or generated outline—select one to jump to the next step. You can also type your own, then click the continue icon or press Enter. Without a source selected, AI draws on its general knowledge of the topic.
3. Select a block type. AI generates a full draft based on your prompt for the selected block type.
4. Refine the draft. Make suggestions in the prompt field, or click one of the prebuilt options below it.
5. Click Insert block when you're satisfied.

Note: Click the X at the top of the panel to end the session without generating a block. You can also click Stop Generating while AI is working to halt the task and give new instructions. Learn more about generating, refining, and converting blocks.

Magic Text Import

Already have an approved copy? Magic text import can reformat it into a block while keeping your original wording.

From the shortcuts bar at the bottom, click Block library > Magic text import. In an interactive video, add a new checkpoint first.

The Magic text import window opens. From there:

1. Select a block type from the dropdown.
2. Copy your formatted text from the source document.
3. Paste it into the field.
4. Click Generate block.

Pro tip: Clean headings make a real difference. AI uses them to decide where one step or panel ends, and the next begins. Review our best practices for formatting source content before you import.

Note: Magic text import is not available in a quick reference.

Refine Existing Content

Write and Edit Inline

Wherever you can enter formatted text—such as text and some interactive blocks—you can use the write and edit inline feature.

Edit with AI

To edit existing text, select it, then click Edit with AI (sparkle icon) from the floating toolbar.

When you use AI to edit selected text, you can fix grammar, shorten or lengthen the selection, simplify or change the tone, rewrite for a specific audience, and more. You can also format the selection by having AI do things like turning your selection into a bulleted list or table, bolding key terms—even inserting emojis. 

Selected text can also be used to generate new content, adding multiple paragraphs based on the selection or converting it into something entirely new.

Write with AI

Write with AI generates new content from your prompt. On an empty line, click the plus sign, then select Write with AI (sparkle icon) from the floating toolbar.

The Write with AI process starts with AI asking what you'd like to write about. It then provides options to shape and refine the generated content, similar to those presented when editing existing text. And since AI is context-aware, it allows you to generate relevant and cohesive content by referencing lesson material surrounding the current block and source documents.

Block Editing

To generate additional content in an existing block or edit existing content, hover over the block, then select Edit with AI from the AI Block Tools menu on the left-floating toolbar. The Edit block panel displays on the right, with the selected block as the source. If the block was AI-generated from source content, it will use the same source.

Enter what you'd like to accomplish in the prompt field. For instance, you can ask AI to add information, combine paragraphs, add steps, and more. When you're finished making changes, you can either replace the block entirely or insert your edited block below the selected block.

Quick Block Conversion

Transform your block from one type to another. Hover over a block, then click AI Block Tools > Instant convert in the left-floating toolbar. Select the block type you'd like to transform your current block into, and AI takes care of the rest. The newly generated block is inserted below the current block.

Insert Images and Voiceovers

Image Generation

Fill a visual gap without sifting through stock libraries. Describe the image you need, and AI will create it.

From the shortcuts bar at the bottom, click AI Image, or click Block library > Generate AI block > Generate or edit an image. In an interactive video, add a new checkpoint first.

The Course media window opens on the AI images tab. Enter your prompt in the chat window on the left, and the result will appear on the right.

Note: Inappropriate, offensive, and legally protected language can't be used to generate images. Prompts containing restricted language will be blocked or simply not generate content. Please see our content policy for additional information.

You can use the menu icons below the chat box to:

• Set a style
• Change the orientation
• Add a reference image
• Enhance your prompt

Set a Style

Create images that match your training content with styles. Here’s how:

1. Click Style (palette icon) in the lower-left corner of the chat box.
2. Select a prebuilt style from the list, then click Apply. Selecting a prebuilt style also reveals the prompt used to generate it. You can copy the prompt to use as the basis for your own custom style.
3. (Optional) Choose Custom to create a style with your own prompts or a prompt copied from a prebuilt style.

Pro tip: As image generation models evolve, the available list of styles may change over time. To keep or replicate any style you like, copy the style prompt and save it somewhere safe.

Change the Orientation

Set the orientation of the image you want to generate by clicking Orientation (sliders icon) in the lower-left corner of the chat box. Available options include Landscape (default), Square, and Portrait.

Add a Reference Image

Sharing your own visual assets helps the AI model create images that better convey your ideas. Here's how to use a reference image:

1. Click the Attach button (paperclip icon) in the lower-left below the chat box.
2. Select your image from the file picker. You can add up to 4 images, but you can only upload one at a time.
3. (Optional) To replace or delete a reference image, hover over it and click the Replace or Delete icon.

Enhance Your Prompt

Turn a bare prompt into a detailed one. Start with something simple like "A doctor" and let AI fill in the specifics so you land closer to the image you envisioned.

Click Prompt assist (sparkle icon) in the lower-right corner of the chat box, then click Enhance with AI. AI rewrites your prompt with vivid detail, ready for you to adjust before generating.

For images of people, AI adds details like clothing, pose, expression, lighting, and background.

Tip: Not sure where to start? The same menu offers Quick prompts—prebuilt descriptions like "A diverse team collaborating in a modern office" that you can use as-is or edit to fit your content.

Once you’re done, click Insert image in the lower-right corner of the screen. If you'd prefer to keep iterating, read on to learn how to refine a generated image.

Image Editing

Enter follow-up prompts to edit your generated image. Use the Try again link under each response to regenerate an image using the last prompt. To start over from scratch, click the Start over link in the upper-right corner, then click Start over when prompted. This will delete all prompts and the results already generated.

As you iterate, new versions appear in the results panel. Use the filmstrip below the image or the arrows on either side to switch between versions and compare results. Click the Expand image (magnifying glass icon) in the lower-right corner of the image to see a larger preview. To download the generated image, click the Download icon.

When you’re satisfied, click the Insert image button in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Text-to-Speech Generation

Add narration to your training without having to record yourself. Choose a voice, drop in your script, and AI produces a lifelike voiceover in seconds.

In a course or quick reference, launch text-to-speech generation by clicking AI Audio from the shortcuts bar at the bottom, or click Block library > Generate AI block > Generate AI audio. In an interactive video, add a new checkpoint first.

The Course media window opens on the AI audio tab. From there:

1. Click the Voice dropdown and select one from the list, or click View all on the right to browse the full voice library.
2. Enter your script in the text field.
3. (Optional) Configure additional voice settings by clicking Advanced settings.
4. Click Generate voiceover when you're ready.

Knowledge Check Generation

Check retention without having to write questions from scratch. Let AI draft knowledge check questions based on your training content.

From the shortcuts bar at the bottom, click Block library > Generate AI block > Generate AI knowledge check. In an interactive video, add a new checkpoint first.

The Generate knowledge check panel opens on the right side of the screen. From there:

1. Enter a topic or click one of the AI-suggested topics based on your training content.
2. Select a question type—multiple choice, multiple response, fill-in-the-blank, or matching—and AI generates a draft.
3. (Optional) Refine the draft by entering suggestions in the prompt field or by clicking one of the prebuilt options below it.
4. Click Insert knowledge check when you're happy with the generated content.

Summary Generation

Help your audience retain key takeaways to enhance the overall effectiveness of your training by using AI to generate a summary.

From the shortcuts bar at the bottom, click Block library > Generate AI block > Generate AI summary. In an interactive video, add a new checkpoint first.

When the Generate lesson summary window displays, choose how you’d like to generate the summary. You can create a summary without customization (default), or enter a prompt for custom instructions. For example, set the level of detail or ask AI to focus on something, or set the tone, audience, and style. When you’re ready, click Generate Summary.
